one meter loop configurations as well as large custom loops up to 3 meters
by 4 meters are now available for IEC-1000-4-8 testing along with 125
ampere and 1000 ampere generators. For large systems that cannot be elevated
above the ground plane, the new proximity array allows you to test IEC
1000-4-8.

1000-4-8 Magnetic Field Immunity Systems
Magnetic
fields generated at AC power mains frequently degrade residential, commercial,
industrial and medical electronic equipment. These 50Hz and 60Hz magnetic
fields produced in the vicinity of power transformers can cause problems
for CRT's, Hall effect sensors and other electronic products. Electronics
products can be tested for immunity to power frequency magnetic fields
using Fischer Custom Communication, Inc. family of IEC 1000-4-8 magnetic
field immunity test systems.
Loops
from 1 meter by 1 meter up to 3 meters by 4 meters are available along
with a proximity array. Generators are available for 50Hz and 60Hz operation
that can provide magnetic fields from 1 ampere/meter up to 1000 amperes/meter.
Custom generators are available upon request.

The
test can be used in the design phase or to insure the equipments reliable
operation after it has been placed in service. The hand help proximity
loop allow power frequency magnetic fields to be coupled to the EUT. Then
hand held loop can be easily moved around the EUT to identify sensitive
areas in horizontal an vertical polarizations. The figure below shows
an example of how the test is performed.
